RCIA: Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults

Why Catholicism?

The Catholic Faith is home to over one billion people. Together, we share the Word of God in Sacred Scripture. We grow in our relationships with God through the Sacraments. We worship with one another at Holy Mass every day! We are called to pray and serve the world in truth with love. Our Parish has something very special to offer, and we want you to call St. Pius X your home. Welcome!

What is RCIA?

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is a journey of prayer, study and Church ceremonies. Leading up to the celebration of Easter, participants reflect and discern their place in our beautiful Faith. With the support of our Emmaus Team, we hope you will join our community at St. Pius X Catholic Church.

Who is it for?

¨ Catechumens:  Anyone who has yet to be baptized in the Name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

¨ Candidates:  Anyone baptized from another faith, yearning to become Catholic.

¨ Anyone with a desire to learn and experience more about their Catholic Faith.

Beginning in September and concluding  after Easter, sessions are held after 10:30am Mass until 1:30pm (with a meal included). A parish companion will attend the sessions with you.

¨ Breaking Open the Word:  Starting in December, following the Homily, we will reflect on the Scriptures of the day.

¨ Rites:  Celebrations throughout the year with the Catholic community.

¨ Retreat:  A day of prayer and contemplation, culminating in the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

¨ Mystagogy:  Dinner followed by an invitation to participate in various parish ministries.

Be part of our Emmaus Team!

Just like the disciples who walked with Christ at the end of the Gospel of Luke, RCIA requires the help of our entire parish.

Whether your gifts are in teaching, cooking, music or just walking alongside our RCIA candidates and catechumens; we want you to be a part of our team!

If you would like to register, have questions or know someone who is interested in becoming a Catholic, please call Tony Lavorata at 393-4445x112 or send him an email at [email protected].
