The Building and Grounds Committee maintains and monitors the physical buildings and grounds for safety and aesthetics. We look to maintain and improve our buildings and grounds with short term and long term goals. The committee also serves as planners for any construction of new facilities or remodeling of existing facilities. The goal of the committee is to be proactive with all maintenance and not reactive. Although sometimes, this is not possible as we all know that “things” happen. Help us be prepared for both proactive and reactive maintenance and repairs of St. Pius X Church.

Please consider donating to the Building Maintenance Fund. This fund is set up to provide for big projects that occur. For example, many of our heating units are approaching 20 years old. As they age, costly repairs increase. If we were to replace one unit, it could be as high as $200,000.

Volunteer Opportunities:

• Every spring, we develop a Mowing Schedule. You are assigned to a Team that mows our parish grounds about once a month. Training is available.
  • Mowing on Thursday or Friday, day or evening mowing
  • Multiple Mow Teams needed to rotate weeks
  • Mow from April to October
